Call for Hackers: Microshare Co-hosting LoRaWAN ‘HackIoT Philly 2017’ on December 8-9

PHILADELPHIA, November 8 — Microshare Inc. is organizing a hackathon called HackIoT Philly at the Drexel Innovation Studio on December 8-9 2017 in Philadelphia. Save the date!

Like most hackathons, HackIoT Philly will present participants with a challenge: Take a package of LoRaWAN IoT hardware and software and create solutions for your environment, your community, your home, your city, your factory or business.

The solutions created over the course of the weekend event will be judged and prizes will be awarded to winning efforts. Space is limited so applicants are urged to register promptly via the link below.

LoRaWAN connects low-cost, battery-operated sensors over long distances, in applications that were previously cost prohibitive to connect. LoRaWAN gateways deployed on a building or tower can connect to sensors more than ten miles away. The LoRaWAN protocol offers bi-directionality, security, mobility and accurate localization that are not addressed by other IoT technologies. These benefits will enable the diverse use cases that will enable deployments of Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) IoT networks globally.

Microshare, a Philadelphia-based startup, produces software solutions for some of the world’s largest technology, telecom, financial services, and infrastructure companies. Its Microshare™ software enables data sharing that underpin the new revenue models that consultancies say will create a $4 trillion IoT economy by 2020. Microshare resolves the data ownership challenge that naturally occurs in IoT. With Microshare onboard in the IoT ecosystem, network carriers, IoT platform providers, IoT platform clients, IoT applications’ managers, and end users can all successfully engage in multi-party data ownership.

The event is co-sponsored by Senet, STMicroelectronics, Mouser Electronics, and Drexel University’s Drexel Ventures University Accelerator. Details and registration information can be found on the HackIoT Registration website.
